I've always thought that of all the American movie classics The Wizard of Oz has one of the most profound and spiritual messages whether or not we know it, we have the power within to get to where we want to go. For Dorothy it took a journey to Oz in order to discover that her ruby slippers could deliver on her deepest desire to return back home.
The Wizard of Oz is a great story not just because of the wonderfully imaginative way that Lyman Frank Baum told his story, but because of the truths he told. We think we are on a journey of adventure to places far away and magical, but ultimately the story is not about the adventure, but the self-discovery that results from the journey.
For me, following my yellow brick road has been about trial and error, the process of re-sensitizing myself after years of feeling numb and apathetic, an exercise in honing my intuition, achieving a sense of inner equilibrium and finding my inner compass which I see leading me to fulfill on my highest potential.
