As part of the philanthropic initiatives of Discovering Ganesh, I held a fundraiser in June 2008, which raised $5,000 to support the training of women vision entrepreneurs in India. This program is run by the non-profit, VisionSpring. Since Discovering Ganesh is a visual arts project about a deity who removes obstacles, I thought what better organization to support than VisionSpring which restores vision and transforms lives through the sale of affordable eye glasses.
